GreenHaus Development was birthed in Brooklyn, NY through David Duncan, real estate broker and founder. With 10 years in the business, I have worked with countless individuals and have seen countless real estate scenarios. But what became apparent was the sudden change that was occurring in the neighborhoods I was working in due to gentrification. Having the experience in leasing both luxury and affordable rentals, there was a form of gratification that I felt helping young families of color and individuals lease an apartment they could afford and I knew this whom I wanted to serve. At the time I was only working with a couple of developers that developed buildings under HPD's New Hop program, which made me aware of the city agency's financing options for developers. I always wanted to be a real estate developer but never knew how I could become one and if that was possible for serving people in my community. Working those listings gave me hope that it was possible. Since then, I've been on a mission to be that developer and to serve the people that I felt I was called to serve. Hence, the birth of GreenHaus Development.

Even though GreenHaus Development is a young company, our solutions aren't and they meet the needs of the people whom we believe need it the most. A study shows that 60% of rent burdened New Yorkers have issues in their buildings and live in dangerous housing conditions, for example, broken elevator, poor lighting, unsafe construction, peeling paint(35%), pests and rodents (29%) and severe mold or leaks (24%). We know and we are confident that our MgO cement base wallboard and insulation can remedy a majority of those issues, at the same time improving the quality of life of people that live in those buildings. By the means of purchasing burdened buildings and retrofitting them, or working with NYCHA, HUD, or any other city/government agency, as well as partnering with like-minded organizations or individuals, we are enthused, eager, and ready to serve.
