Healthy Homes for Urban Families
The 2018 report done by the New York Academy of Medicine states that one in three New York City residents is severely rent burdened, and 56 percent of renters live in homes with at least one health hazard. These hazards are associated with a wide range of health conditions, including respiratory infections, asthma, lead poisoning, injuries, and mental health. Unfortunately, these problems in housing fall disproportionately in communities of color. Even with the recent passing of the NYS rent protection laws, it doesn't solve the housing crisis that affects these communities. Our solution is to own and manage burdened buildings that house burdened families, by providing healthy non-expanding injection insulation to enhance the health of the building as well as the health of the tenants. We also seek to develop home ownership opportunities for burdened families in order to combat displacement with wealth creation. We intend to have a service first mentality by making your home our priority.
